When Martha Ann Barnard stepped into the Library wanting to research the Sherrod House in High Point, North Carolina, I immediately accessed our database to find information for her. She was thrilled that BBFL had several publications that had information on this home. Martha and her business partner, Chip Harris have purchased the Sherrod House. They will be moving their business, Vintage Thrift and Antiques, into the sprawling 1914 home. Martha learned that the Sherrod House was built by High Point businessman Archibald Sherrod and his wife Lizzie. Mr. Sherrod was the owner of High Point Chair Company and was the principal developer of Sherrod Park. This Prairie style home with a green tile roof is located at 1100 North Main Street, High Point, North Carolina. To learn more about the Sherrod House stop by the Bernice Bienenstock Furniture Library and check out THE ARCHITECTURE OF HIGH POINT NORTH CAROLINA by Benjamin Briggs.
