An educational experience for the next generation of designers

Participants will meet, discuss ideas, and make connections with leaders in the furniture, textile, lighting, interior design, architecture, and product design professions. Through special seminars and design events, students will be empowered to reach the full height of their creative potential and learn from other creative genres in the industry. Plus, a $5000 Scholarship will be awarded to one attending student based on parameters set forth by the Bienenstock Furniture Library Student Summit Committee.

A maximum of 50 students will be invited. Students must complete the application form to be considered. Students will be selected by the Bienenstock Furniture Library Student Summit Committee. More than one student per school CAN be chosen to attend. The Summit is free but students will need to provide their own transportation to and from the event.

Our Mission

The Future Designers’ Summit introduces the brightest young creative minds in college and university design programs to the people, brands, and processes that are creating tomorrow’s homes. It is a set of educational and networking opportunities designed to create an experience that inspires innovation in interior, furniture, and product design that draws from the rich legacy of these disciplines to shape a more beautiful, functional, and fulfilling future

Our Keynote Speakers

Young Huh

Young Huh

Founder of a full-service interior design firm that specializes in residential and commercial interiors, Young is recognized as one of today’s most innovative and imaginative designers. She is included on Elle Decor’s prestigious A-List, named one of Vogue’s five interior designers on the rise, included in the Andrew Martin Interior Design Review. Her work can be seen in the pages of Architectural Digest, Domino, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Interior Design, Luxe, The New York Times, Real Simple, and The Wall Street Journal, as well as many other trade and regional publications. Young actively bolsters the local and global design community, participating in speaking engagements and charitable events including, among others, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House, NKBA Board of Directors, and Bienenstock Future Designers’ Summit.

The work of her firm, Young Huh Interior Design (YHID) expresses the interplay of harmony and dynamism through the application of classic and modern design principles. Thoughtful architectural details provide the groundwork for warm and welcoming interiors, each animated by sophisticated surface treatments, a singular play of pattern and color, and a touch of wanderlust. YHID continues to expand beyond its original repertoire to include large commercial and hospitality projects, as well as a growing line of licensed collections.

Jane Dagmi

Editor In Chief, Designers’ Today

‘How architecture, interior design, furniture design, product design, manufacturing and photography all work together and depend on each other in this industry’

Jane is a very curious person with an automatic storymaker for a brain. She became Editor of Designers Today in January 2018, eager to get back to print after a productive and satisfying 14-year career at Country Living, and an interlude as an editorial contributor for various publications, as well as two positions in the technology field. Contact with interior designers convinced Jane that this is an audience with whom she wants to observe and communicate. When the opportunity arose at Designers Today, she immediately embraced the rewarding and focused challenge of building a brand, and has led the publication to a prominent position in design trade media. When she is not working, Jane likes to paint and ramble down backroads.
