BFL Announces 2015 Design Competition Winners

March 8, 2015

Last week the Bernice Bienenstock Furniture Library Board of Directors announced the winners of design competitions that awarded two $5,000 scholarships to distinguished scholars to continue studies in their respective fields of Interior Design and Furniture Design. In addition to the $5,000 awards, each has been given memberships in the ASFD and ASID professional associations and their schools will receive $1,000 to use in their academic programs.

BFL Announces Pat Plaxico Gardens

July 1, 2013

Final plans are underway to break ground on Plaxico Gardens, named in honor of Pat Plaxico, a long-time Library board member who has a distinguished history of service to the furnishings community. Work will begin on the gardens this fall and be ready for dedication in the spring of 2014. Charles Sutton, President of the Library’s Board of Directors commented: “It is our way of saying thank you to Pat for her efforts and to celebrate her contributions in a way that is relevant and meaningful.”

Leslie Carothers Joins BFL Board

January 14, 2013

Industry veteran Leslie Carothers has joined the Board of Directors of the Bernice Bienenstock Furniture Library. She will lead social media efforts for the non-profit organization. In making the appointment, Charlie Sutton, President of the Board said: “Leslie is the preeminent expert on social media in our industry.”
